Rising Rugosas, Oil on Linen, 30x30 inches, 2024-26

This painting of beach roses by a sea shore under a stormy grey sky with flecks of gold encroaching evolved over a few years. Initially it was painted with bright sunlight but as world events grew dark and those with money and power contributed to events antithetical to my principles, the painting took on a new meaning. The water and gold painted weeds encroach the roses.
